Mount Wank

Looking through the clouds at the cable car from the Top Station

From Garmisch-Partenkirchen you can easily get cable cars up several impressive mountains.  And with one unfortunately named Mount Wank – being English – you just have to go up that one!

I did so on a dry – but cloudy day.  This made the top of the mountain fairly eerie, as it was just above / level with the clouds at times.  I of course got the cable car up to the top station rather than walk, and this is the view from the viewing platform beside it.

Others did not and choose to walk up it.  Maybe from the mid station – even then it would be a fair hike.

With the clouds rolling around the top, it made changing views all the time, particularly of the other nearby mountains.

The summit itself was fairly clear – and this is the view across from the right hand side of the top station looking back at it.

There is also a quicker way down – if you a braver than me – you can jump off the board in the right hand side of this picture, preferably with a parachute.
