Spring Birds and Bunnies

Little Rabbit

I spent a couple of nice weekend in early May at Blashford Lakes Nature reserve, wandering around with my Canon 500mm lens and converters.   I saw a wide variety of birds and some bunny rabbits, as this post will hopefully show.

First from the Tern Hide, and with a 2x Converter attached to the lens – a Little Ringed Plover.

Then in the scrub from the nearby car park was this Lapwing chick.

I photographed another young bird outside the Goosander Hide.  A fledgling Dunnock in a variety of poses.

And then the from the Lapwing Hide, some young rabbits in the daisies.

From inside the Goosander Hide good views could be had of nesting Sand Martins, and a pair of courting Grebes.

In some ways the stills don’t do justice to the speed of the Sand Martins and the dancing Grebes.  So here is a short clip of both.
