Today I took an afternoon trip to Stanpit Marshes, Christchurch. The day was a lovely December day with bright clear skies and not too cold either. Stanpit Marsh nature reserve at this time of year is a nice place to go looking for Stonechats. And today my luck was in as there were a few about posing on the gorse and brambles.
I got a little luck with this next shot – managing to get one of the Stonechats taking off and in focus.
There were also a lot of waders about – including several Curlew, Godwits and Redshanks. This my best wader picture from the trip – a Curlew in the marsh.
Whilst these two Godwits stayed near enough for a short bit of 4K videoing.
As I finished my walk around the reserve, Christchurch Priory was nicely reflecting in the water of the Stour.
All in all a very satisfactory visit.
