Middlebere Heath ( and the nearby Hartland Moor ) are owned by the National Trust.

Middlebere has a path from the parking spaces at the entrances that leads down to 3 hides, two of which are small wagon like hides ( They make a good picture on their own ), with the last a larger hide past the rented cottages overlooking the Middlebere end of Poole Harbour – opposite from RSPB Arne. From this last hide wading birds and occassional harriers can be seen.

The gorse down the path makes good spotting for smaller birds, and if you are lucky you may see a Dartford Warbler.

Hartland moor is more a heathland area, and on their you can see a photograph heathland flowers and insects. Additionally if you visit on a warm summer day, then all 6 of Britains reptiles could be spotted if you are exceptionally lucky.
