Mount Untersberg is an impressive mountain near Salzburg ( It’s the northern most massif of the Berchesgaden Alps ).  It is easily accessible by cable car, a short distance from Salzburg.  I visited it this year in late August for the first time, getting a bus from the hotel to the cable car station.  From there it was a short ride to the mountain station.  Great view can be had

A first look at TopazLabs Glow Plugin

TopazLabs.com have released a new plugin called Glow.  Being a user of some of their other plugins, especially Denoise & Adjust, I thought I would give it a quick play this evening.   I tried it on a couple wildlife shots without any really pleasing effect, however this shot of trees in winter sunlight produced some nice results. Following my recent experiments with sound for video using both a Rode Videomic Pro – both on its own and with a Zoom H5 Recorder, it became apparent that even with leveling the sound to a reasonable level, there is still some background noise when recording in the field. After some research I found this noise could be cleaned up nicely using the free Audacity program. Here is an example
